Transitional Period of UPSC, Govt. Says decide prelims or service

Candidates who have been allocated service to the IAS, IFS, IPS, and Central Services, Group-‘A’, on the basis of CSE, 2013 may note that they have to report for the mandatory Foundation Course from 1st September, 2014 to institutes to be indicated to them. They would shortly receive letters to that effect from DoPT. The same letter could also be accessed in the DOPT’s website through the web authentication code provided to the candidates after 20th August, 2014. However, for joining instructions candidates may also access the link www.lbsnaa.qov.in after 20.08.2014. The candidates are hereby informed that all those who are appearing at the CSE (Preliminary) 2014 on 24th August 2014 would not be allowed to join this Foundation Course.

If a candidate has already done FC in earlier years, he/she may also seek exemption from the Foundation Course from DoPT. The candidates are hereby directed to seek and obtain exemption if they require it by writing to DoPT (doais1nic.in or, uss2@nic.in ) /LBSNAA(jains7(a.ias.nic.in ) by mentioning their name, rank & Roll No., service allocated to them on the basis of recommendation in CSE-2013 and roll number for the CS(Preliminary) Examination 2014, immediately and in any case before 22.08.2014.

Previously, a ranker who got IAS/IFS cannot take prelims, and all others can retake examination and to the top of it, they can also ask for excuse for attending foundation program saying they are attending the exam again. Today’s notification is a huge step towards the change. Now, any ranker has to decide what he should want, to put it other way, the decision of the ranker tests his confidence levels.

Anyway, I hope there wouldn’t be any huge difference, because a dedicated aspiring person would not stop his journey for such hurdles.

Decide what are you meant for and take a bold step, and be ready to accept the result later(may be anything).

All the Best!!
